`TO BE A HOUSE OF PRAYER |
Our main thrust as a church is to lead people to call upon the Lord. Jesus said "My house shall be called a house of prayer", and that is our objective. What does it matter how creative or even successful we are at bringing people into the church, if we don't lead them to God's throne of grace? If we concentrate on ministry to the Lord, He will divinely direct the rest of our pursuits. 24-7 Asheville is an around the clock prayer room and prayer ministry currently functioning at 'the body'. |

TO BE A FACILITATOR FOR WORSHIP: |
We are convinced that if individuals experience and encounter the living God of the universe, they will know His life transforming power. We believe that a vital part of this process is divinely directed, fervent worship. We also believe that worship and prayer are intricate elements of each other. We realize that the effectiveness of our ministry depends on those God brings across our path experiencing true worship. |

TO BE A DISSEMINATOR OF THE GOSPEL: |
Not only did Jesus say that his house shall be called a house of prayer, but He said it shall be called a house of prayer for "all nations". This "house of prayer" that God has called us to is also a welcoming station for the hard-core unsaved and un-churched. We desire to be the extension of the expression of Christ on the earth today by fulfilling His proclaimed mission of Luke:18-19: |
|
TO BE A FACILITATOR FOR DISCIPLESHIP: |
This culture of believers that God has formed us into functions in spiritual community with spiritual parenting and nurturing. Spiritual mothers and fathers, spiritual brothers and sisters, living, loving and compelling one another as we are being conformed to the image of Christ. This ongoing discipling model functions much in the same fashion as the early church did, a living, breathing culture and cimmunity of old and young believers pouring into each onther's lives, recognizing that reporducing disciples is an important part of being a disciple. |
|
TO BE A RESOURCE FOR BENEVOLENCE: |
Our desire is not to duplicate the many benevolent ministries already in place in downtown Asheville, but to be a resource for those we come in contact with who need such assistace. Given the socio-economic condition of many of those our fellowship has the privilege of ministering to, we do recognize the need for a vital and clearly defined benevolence system. We also desire to be a body for those involved in the already existing benevolence ministries who do not have a church home. We hope to utilize and support what God already has in place. |
